Update: Czarnecki, Adam Lead PKB Junior After Round One

— Live Scoring —

Pine Needles Lodge & GCWe are grateful for the weather holding out for us today during round one of the PKB Junior at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club.  With temperatures in the 60s and 70s all day, we couldn’t have asked for better conditions for play!

Leading the Bell Series is Ashley Czarnecki (Greenville, SC 2016) with a one-over par 72.  She made four birdies on the day and plenty of pars to go with them.  In second place by only one stroke at 73 is Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017).  There are six players in a tie for third place with a 77.  We are looking forward to an exciting finish in the Bell Series!

Leading the Futures Series is Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) with a 74.  She made 13 solid pars on her round.  In a three-way tie for second place are Elizabeth Coffren (Owings, MD 2020), Melissa Meng (Blacksburg, VA 2020), and Channing Hensley (Wake Forest, 2018) at 78.  It is still anyone’s game in the Futures Series!

Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, the host of the Peggy Kirk Bell Junior, was also host to the US Women’s Open in 1996, 2001, and 2007.  The strong history of women’s golf at Pine Needles combined with a championship-level course make it the ideal location for the further development of the game and the unofficial home of the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour.  68 players of the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the largest “girls-only” junior golf tour in the country, will tackle the classic Donald Ross course at 5,745 yards in the Bell Series and 5,004 yards in the Futures Series.

Play will conclude tomorrow with round two at a 9:00am shotgun start.  Awards will be presented to the top-five finishers in each series.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
