Update: Branum & Kanaby lead at 2GG Championship

— Live Scoring —

A storm could not slow down the PKBGT players as low scores were the story of the day.  The inaugural 2GG Apparel Championship at Coastal Carolina University’s Hackler Course completed day 1 of the 36 hole events.  2GG Apparel, a clothing line and new sponsor of the PKBGT, was founded by MLB All-Star pitcher Russ Ortiz after his retirement in 2010.  Oritz is an avid golfer and 100% of the proceeds from 2GG Apparel are donated to charity.

Round 1 saw recent PKBGT South Carolina One-Day Series champion Madison Branum (2018, Lexington, SC) take the round 1 lead with a 1-under par 71.  She holds a 3 shot lead over Hailey Freedman (2018, Chapel Hill, NC) and recent Girls Team Championship winner  and Prep Series Order of Merit leader Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021).

In the Futures Series, Megan Kanaby (2019, Chapel Hill, NC) holds a 1-shot lead over 2 players with a 2-over par 74.  She leads North Carolina One-Day Futures Series Order of Merit leader Lotte Fox (2020, Raleigh, NC) and Gaby Martine (2018, Mt Pleasant, SC).

Awards will be presented to the top six finishers in each Series!
