Recap: Freedman & Martinez victorious at 2GG Championship

— Official Scoreboard —

Blue skies were the story for day 2 of the inaugural 2GG Apparel Championship at Coastal Carolina University’s Hackler Course.  Following threatening skies on Saturday, the players were given a reprieve by Mother Nature and had great scoring conditions for the final round.

In the Prep Series, Hailey Freedman (2018, Chapel Hill, NC) overcame a 3-shot deficit to claim her 1st PKBGT Championship title.  Her third career Prep Series victory was highlighted by a final round even par 72.  Her two-day total of 2 over-par 146 was good for a 2 shot victory over current Prep Series Order of Merit leader Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021).  First round leader Madison Branum (2018, Lexington, SC) claimed third place at 5 over par 149.

In the Futures Series, Gaby Martinez (2018, Mt Pleasant, SC) claimed her 1st PKBGT victory in only her 2nd career start with a 5 over par 149.  First round leader Megan Kanaby (2019, Chapel Hill, NC) finished 3 shots back in 2nd place with North Carolina One-Day Futures Series Order of Merit leader Lotte Fox (2020, Raleigh, NC) claiming 3rd place.
