Recap: Joy, Kang Win One-Day Open @ Pinewood CC

On Friday, July 1, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the One-Day Open Series at Pinewood Country Club. Pinewood CC, host to many Carolinas junior and amateur events, is a classic course for this one-day tournament. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field 25 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour.

Winning the Prep Series was Hailey Joy (Riedsville, NC 2018) with a 78.  In second place with a 79 was Megan Munroe (Raeford, NC 2016).  In third place with an 82 was Caroline Duggan (Holly Springs, NC 2019).  In fourth place was Mary Slade White (Winston-Salem, NC 2019) with an 83.  In fifth place with an 84 was Jenna Nagy (Apex, NC 2017).

Winning the Futures Series was Amanda Kang (Kernersville, NC 2018) with a 77.  In second place with a round of 82 was Katelyn Kenthack (Pinehurst, NC 2020).  In third with an 83 was Layla Meric (Wesley Chapel, NC 2021).  In fourth place with an 84 was Anna Hillman (Summerfield, NC 2018).  In fifth place with a round of 89 was Abby Hunter (Blacksburg, VA 2021).
