Preview: Precision Jr Girls’ Championship

On Thursday-Friday, June 23-24, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the PGS JR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP at Bryan Park Golf Course (Champions Course). Bryan Park, home to the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans golf teams, is a fantastic venue for the fourth championship event of the season. The event features a field 36 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour. 

The Prep Division field features 24 golfers, highlighted by the 2016  Bell Series Order of Merit winner, Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC 2018), and 10 of the top-75 players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Emily Hawkins ranked 1st, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) ranked 5th, Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) ranked 8th, Kathryn Carson (Mooresville, NC 2017) ranked 10th, Riley Smyth (Cary, NC 2018) ranked 17th, Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020) ranked 33rd, Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018) ranked 56th, Kayla Smith (Burlington, NC 2019) ranked 60th, Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2018) ranked 64th, Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) ranked 72nd, and Olivia John (Summerfield, NC  2018) ranked 74th.

The Futures Division field features 13 golfers, highlighted by some of the top players on the 2016 PKBGT Futures Order of Merit list,including:  Emily Burbaker (Raleigh, NC 2020) ranked 18th, Katherine Schuster (Kill Devil Hills, NC 2021) ranked T22, Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019) ranked 25th, and Kelley Topiwala (Matthews, NC 2020) ranked 26th.

The PGS JR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIPS brings together players from event brings together players from North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
