Recap: Hawkins & Pack Win the Carolina’s Classic

On Sunday, May 15th, the PKBGT concluded play the Carolina’s Classic  at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC.  This course is known for the PGA Tour event that was held there for 30 years: the Wyndham Championship, formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and the Greater Greensboro Open (GGO). The field featured 49 girls from 5 states.

Winning the Bell Series was Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC 2018)  by one stroke with rounds of 75-77-152 .  The runner-up was Olivia John (Summerfield, NC 2018) with round of 78-75 153.  In a tie for 3rd place was Julianne Strauch (Advance, NC 2017) with rounds of 78-78 and Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) with rounds of 75-81, both totaling 156.  In 5th place was Hailey  Freedman (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) with rounds of 77-81-158.

Winning after a two hole play off in the Futures Series was Emelia Pack (Browns Summit, NC 2019) with rounds of 78-74-152.  The runner-up with a matching two day total was Charleigh Hodges (Mooresville, NC 2018) with  round of 73-79-152.  In third place was Alexia Siehl (Fort Mill, SC 2022) with rounds of 79-76-155.  In a tie for 4th place with two day totals of 156 were Hailey Pendlelton (Waxhaw, NC 2020), Lotte Fox (Raleigh, NC 2020), Mallory Fobes ( East Bend, NC 2019), and Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019).

The PKBGT returns to action next week for the NC One-Day Series at Pinehurst No. 9 in Pinehurst, NC!
