Preview: Carolina’s Classic @ Forest Oaks CC

On Saturday-Sunday, May 14th – 15th, the PKBGT will play the Carolina’s Classic  at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC.  This course is known for the PGA Tour event that was held there for 30 years: the Wyndham Championship, formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and the Greater Greensboro Open (GGO).

Competing in the Bell Series next week are Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC, 2018), Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) and  Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020).  Hawkins is currently ranked 2nd in the Bell Order of Merit and finished T-3 at the PKBGT 2016 MASTERS.  Bruxvoort has had success on the links this year with a runner-up finish in the Prep Series at the Tar Heel Classic @ UNC Chapel Hill Finley GC.  Adam is making her Bell Series debut after three wins and two runner-up finishes in the Futures Series, Adam also sits atop the Futures Series Order of Merit..

Competing in the Futures Series are Lotte Fox (Raleigh, NC 2020), Emelia Pack (Browns Summit, NC 2019), and Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022).  Fox is currently ranked 3rd on the Futures Series Order of Merit and has also had success on the course this year with a win at the One-Day Series event at Carolina Trace.  Pack is ranked in the 5th position on the PKBGT Futures Order of Merit and had a win at the Palmetto Classic @ University of South Carolina this year. Atwood is ranked 7th on the Futures Series Order of Merit.

Awards will be presented to the top-five finishers in each series.  We look forward to another great event and welcome all of our new players to the PKBGT!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
