On Sunday, March 29, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Boar’s Head Inn Classic at Birdwood Golf Course. Birdwood, home to the University of Virginia women’s golf team, is an classic course with tricky, undulating greens and a wonderful host for this two-day tournament. The event featured a field 37 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
In the Bell Series, Caroline Curtis (Richmond, VA 2019) shot three over par with a score of 75 to place first with a two-day total of 155. Aneka Seumanutafa (Frederick, MD 2019) shot seven over par with a score of 79 to place second with a two-day total of 161. Adeena Shears (Elizabeth, WV 2016) shot three over par with a score of 75 to place third with a two-day total of 162.
In the Futures Series, Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) shot four over par with a score of 76 to place first with a two-day total of 158. Grace Daly (New York, NY 2016) and Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) tied for second, both with two-day totals of 163. four over par with a score of 76 to place second with a two-day total of 163. Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) shot 13 over par with a score of 85 to place fourth with a two-day total of 166.
PKBGT would also like to congratulate Grace Daly on her hole-in-one on hole #4, a 118 yard par 3. This is Daly’s first hole-in-one in her career.
PKBGT returns to action next week on Saturday, April 4 with the One-Day Open Series @ Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, NC. One-Day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event brings together players from North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
