Preview: Boar’s Head Inn Classic at UVA

On Saturday-Sunday, March 28-29, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Boar’s Head Inn Classic at the Birdwood Golf Course at UVA. Birdwood, home to the University of Virginia women’s golf team, is an classic course with tricky, undulating greens and a wonderful host for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 43 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

The Bell Series field features 17 golfers, highlighted by five of the top-65 players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Aneka Seumanutafa (Frederick, MD 2019) ranked 11th, Caroline Curtis (Richmond, VA 2019) ranked 14th, Adeena Shears (Elizabeth, WV 2016) ranked 31st, Elizabeth Nguyen (Pinehurst, NC 2017) ranked 47, and Kendall Dobbins (Summerfield, NC 2016) ranked 64th. Other standout players in the field include: Gabriella Kim (Wayne, PA 2017) and Madeline Sager (Kimberton, PA 2016).

The Futures Series field features 33 golfers, highlighted by six of the top-35 players on the 2015 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) in 1st position, Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018) in 2nd position, Jacqueline Cherry (Ellicott City, MD 2018) in 13th position, Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) in 17th position, Mogie Adamchik (Raleigh, NC 2017) in 32nd position, and Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) in 34th position.

The Boar’s Head Inn Classic brings together players from Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. It should be a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
