Update: Crowded leaderboard at USC

On Saturday, March 21, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Palmetto Classic at Cobblestone Park Golf Club. Cobblestone, home of the University of South Carolina women’s golf team, is a beautiful course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 56 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Prep Series after round one, Lauren Lightfritz (Suwanee, GA 2016) is leading the field by two strokes at even par with a score of 71. Not far behind the leader is Alissa Yang (Norcross, GA 2017) at two over par with a score of 73. Jensen Castle (West Columbia, SC 2019) and Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016) are tied for third at five over par, each with scores of 76.

In the Futures Series after round one, there is a tie for first between Parker Melting (Mint Hill, NC 2018) and Muskan Uppal (Cornelius, NC 2019). The two are leading the field by one stroke at nine over par, each with scores of 80. Not far behind the leaders are Bryson Bowman (Summerfield, NC 2017) at 10 over par with a score of 81 and Anna Morgan (Spartanburg, SC 2019) at 11 over par with a score of 82.

PKBGT would also like to congratulate Muskan Uppal on her hole-in-one on hole #2, a 166 yard par 3. This is Uppal’s first hole-in-one in her career.

Overcast skies with temperatures in the mid 60s and a possibility of rain is in the forecast for Sunday. Despite the possibility of wet weather, it should still be a great final round!
