The PKBGT finished up round one today of the Mid-Atlantic Qualifier at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club. The weather cooperated nicely and it was a great day for golf. 
Leading the tournament after 18 holes of play are Jinny Park (Fairfax, VA 2019) and Casey Morrow (Mars, PA 2017). Park shot a 76 today on the par 71 course and is in the lead by one stroke over Morrow, who shot a 77. The players matched each other on the front nine, both shooting four-over par 39, with Park edging Morrow by one stroke on the back nine. The two played together today and will play together again in round two where they will be joined by Sophie Simon (Potomac, MD 2021). Simon is currently in third place with a 78. Simon shot the best round on the back nine today with a 38. Tied for fourth place are Michelle Cabotaje (Fort Washington, MD 2018) and Melissa Meng (Blacksburg, VA 2020) with an 81. The top-four players from this qualifier will earn an invitation into the 2015 PKB Invitational on November 7th-9th at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC. Good luck to all of our players!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
