Recap: Walker, Rudolf win at Mid Pines

On Sunday, February 1, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the PKB Foundation Classic at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club. Mid Pines, a classic Donald Ross designed course in the heart of the Sandhills of North Carolina, was named “Best U.S Restoration of the Year” in 2013 by Golf Magazine. The event featured a field 50 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 340 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Bell Series, Brynn Walker (St. Davids, PA 2016) shot two over par with a score of 74 to place first with a two-day total of 149. Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) shot nine over par with a score of 81 to place second with a two-day total of 155 and Anna Chanthaphaeng (Boiling Springs, SC 2016) shot 12 over par with a score of 84 to place third with a two-day total of 159.

In the Futures Series, Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) shot seven over par with a score of 79 to place first with a two-day total of 161. Anna Wears (Durham, NC 2015) shot two over par with a score of 74 to place second with a two-day total of 165 and Rachel Kuehn (Asheville, NC 2019) shot nine over par with a score of 81 to place third with a two-day total of 166.

PKBGT returns to action in two weeks on Saturday-Sunday, February 14-15 with the Rocket Tour PLAYERS @ University of Georgia Golf Course. The Rocket Tour PLAYERS is the first championship event of the 2015 season and brings together players from Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Who will be golden?

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
