Recap: Kim, Alhemoud win Black-Eyed Susan Classic

On Thursday, July 30, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Black-Eyed Susan Classic at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club. The course hosted a USGA US Junior Girls Championship and was a fantastic course for Mid-Atlantic Series finale. The top-three finishers in the the Mid-Atlantic Series will received invitations to the 2015 PKBGT Invitational. The event featured a field 21 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Prep Series, Gabriella Kim (Wayne, PA 2017) shot two over par with a score of 74 to place first with a two-day total of 152. Lena Capoccia (Bethesda, MD 2018) shot even par with a score of 72 to place second with a two-day total of 153 and Cassandra Lee (Wayne, NJ 2018) shot six over par with a score of 78 to place third with a two-day total of 157.

In the Futures Series, Julia Alhemoud (Pittsburgh, PA 2017) shot six over par with a score of 78 to place first with a two-day total of 149. Jessica Rathbone (Montpelier, VA 2020) shot eight over par with a score of 78 to place second with a two-day total of 158 and Natalie Welsh (Valencia, PA 2018) shot 11 over par with a score of 83 to place third with a two-day total of 163.

PKBGT returns to action on Sunday, August 2 with the One-Day Open Series at Rocky River Golf Club in Concord, NC. The event brings together players North Carolina and South Carolina..

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
