On Friday, July 24, the 2015 played the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Chapel Hill Country Club. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field 39 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
In the Prep Series, Mackenzie Battle (Aberdeen, NC, 2018) claimed her first PKBGT victory with a 5-over par 77, a 3 shot victory over Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC, 2018).
In the Futures Series, PKBGT newcomer Julia Alhemoud (Pittsburgh, PA, 2017) claimed the title with an even par 73. Recent Futures Series champion at Bermuda Run CC Emilee Wenmoth (Clemmons, NC 2017) continued her strong play with a 2nd place finish two shots back.
PKBGT returns to action on Wednesday, July 29 with the Black Eyed Susan Classic at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club in Owings Mill, MD.
