Update: Bose, Rudolf lead at Nansemond River

On Saturday, April 18, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the Hampton Roads Classic at Nansemond River Golf Club. Nansemond River, the region’s premier waterfront golf course, is a fantastic course for the second event of the PKB Tour’s Mid-Atlantic Series. The course will also host the 2015 Virginia Junior Girls Championship this summer. The event features a field 24 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2015 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Prep Series after round one, Elizabeth Bose (Norfolk, VA 2015) has a 5-shot lead after shooting an opening round 76 over Casey Burroughs (Wake Forest, NC 2016).  Diana Cristina Domenech (Richmond, VA 2018), Kelly Salamy (Williamsburg, VA 2020) and Rebecca DiNunzio (Norfolk, VA 2019) are all close behind.

In the Futures Series after round one, Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) is leading the field by four strokes at 1-over par with a score of 73.  Katherine Schuster (Kill Devil Hills, NC 2021) shot 77 and sits in 2nd place with Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) in third after an opening round 79.

The final round begins at 9 AM Sunday morning.  We look forward to a great finish to the Hampton Roads Classic!
