Recap: Bose, Rudolf win at Nansemond River

On Sunday, April 19, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Hampton Roads Classic at Nansemond River Golf Club. Nansemond River, the region’s premier waterfront golf course, was a fantastic host for the second event of the PKB Tour’s Mid-Atlantic Series. The course will also host the 2015 Virginia Junior Girls Championship this summer. The event featured a field 23 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2015 and over 380 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Prep Series, Elizabeth Bose (Norfolk, VA 2015) claimed her first PKBGT title of the season with a 12-over par 156.  The defending champion of the event, Bose joins an exclusive list of 3-time Classic winners on the PKBGT.   Diana Cristina Domenech (Richmond, VA 2018) fired two 82’s to take 2nd place and Kelly Salamy (Williamsburg, VA 2020) was one shot back in 3rd.

In the Futures Series, Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) was victorious with a commanding performance, shooting rounds of 73 and 74 for a 14 shot victory.  This is the third victory this season for the current Futures Series Order of Merit leader.  Callie Montgomery (Moneta, VA 2017) shot rounds of 82 and 79 to take 2nd by 2 shots over Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019).

PKBGT returns to action next week on Saturday-Sunday, April 25-26 with the Paladin Classic @ Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, SC. The event brings together players from Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ontario, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
