On Sunday, April 12, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the PKBGT MASTERS at Cutter Creek Golf Club. Cutter Creek, home of the East Carolina University Pirates women’s golf team, is a demanding course for this two-day tournament. The event featured a field 76 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf. The event, ranked by the GolfWeek/Titliest national rankings, was the second championship tournament of the 2015 season.
Aneka Seumanutafa (Frederick, MD 2019) is golden!
In the Bell Series, Seumanutafa shot two under par with a score of 71 to place first with a two-day total of 142. Sarina Sonoda (Florence, SC 2016) shot three over par with a score of 76 to place second with a two-day total of 147. Adeena Shears (Elizabeth, WV 2016) shot two over par with a score of 75 to place third with a two-day total of 149.
In the Futures Series, Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) shot two under par with a score of 71 to place first with a two-day total of 150. Muskan Uppal (Cornelius, NC 2019) shot four over par with a score of 77 to place second with a two-day total of 152. Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) shot six over par with a score of 79 to place third with a two-day total of 153.
PKBGT returns to action next week on Saturday-Sunday, April 18-19 with the Hampton Roads Classic at Nansemond River Golf Club in Suffolk, VA. The event is the second event of the Mid-Atlantic Series and brings together players from North Carolina and Virginia.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
