Update: Tindal leads Chanticleer Classic

On Saturday, February 8, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the Chanticleer Classic at The Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University. The Hackler Course, home of the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers men’s and women’s golf teams, is the only university golf course on the Grand Strand and a great course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 29 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Bell Division, after round one, Jaelyn Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2015) has a commanding lead over the rest of the field at one over par with a score of 73. Not far behind Jaelyn is her sister, Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017), at eight over par with a score of 80 and LeAnn Domitrovits (Newport, NC 2015) at 10 over par par with a score of 82.

In the Futures Division, after round one, Kiana Jones (Columbia, SC 2016) is leading the field by one stroke at 10 over par with a score of 82. Not far behind Jones is Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020) at 11 over par with a score of 83 and Ximena Name (Myrtle Beach, SC 2015) at 12 over par a with a score of 84.

Weather for Sunday’s round looks sunny with temperatures in the high 50s and low 60s. It should be a great day to conclude of the third event of 2014!
