Recap: Spicer wins at Forest Oaks

On Saturday, November 1, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the Last Chance Fall Preview at Forest Oaks Country Club. Forest Oaks, home to the University of North Carolina-Greensboro women’s golf team, is an beautiful course for this one-day fall qualifier tournament. The event featured a field of 40 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf. The participants will be vying for five coveted invitations to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course) in November.

Sarah Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) shot three under par with a score of 69 to place first. Jessica Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) shot one over par with a score of 73 to place second and Jensen Castle (West Columbia, SC 2019) shot two over par with a score of 74 to place third.

As the top-four players, including ties, who had not already qualified for the PKBGT Invitational, Anna Chanthaphaeng (Boiling Springs, SC 2016), Ellis Hunter (Greensboro, NC 2016), Gabriella Kim (Wayne, PA 2017), Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019), and Riley Smyth (Raleigh, NC 2018) all received invitations to play in the PKBGT INVITATIONAL next Saturday-Monday, November 8-10 at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
