On Friday, August 1, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the Commonwealth Classic at Lexington Golf & Country Club. The course is home to Washington & Lee University golf teams and is a great course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 12 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
In the Bell Division-Prep Series, Elizaveta Freed (Alexandria, VA 2014) is leading the field by six strokes at one over par with as score of 73. Not far behind Freed is Eunbbie Kim (Potomac, MD 2015) at seven over par with a score of 79 and Graysen Bright (Rockville, MD 2015) at 10 over par with a score of 82.
Weather for Saturday’s round looks lovely with sunny skies temperatures in the high 70s. Should be a great day to conclude the Commonwealth Classic!
