Preview: One-Day Open at Forest Oaks

On Monday, July 28, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Forest Oaks Country Club. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 41 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

The Bell Division-Prep Series field features 10 golfers, highlighted some standout players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Rhea Bhatia (Wake Forest, NC 2015), Meghan Holbrooks (Winston-Salem, NC 2014), and Morgan Laird (Waxhaw, NC 2015).

The Futures Division field features 31 golfers, highlighted some standout players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Paige Church (Newland, NC 2016), Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018), Alexis Jarrell (Davidson, NC 2018), and Olivia John (Summerfield, NC 2018).

The One-Day Open Series at Forest Oaks CC brings together players from event brings together players from North Carolina and South Carolina. It should be a great tournament!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
