On Monday-Tuesday, July 21-22, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Seahawk Classic at the Country Club of Landfall (Nicklaus Course-Marsh & Pines). The course is home to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington golf teams and is a great course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 30 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
The Bell Division-Prep Series field features 16 golfers, highlighted by five of the top-100 players of the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Savannah Gowarty (Raleigh, NC 2015) in 19th position, Jessica Kittelberger (Raleigh, NC 2014) in 23rd position, Alaina Yeatts (Durham, NC 2014) in 52nd position, Kayla Thompson (Clarkton, NC 2014) in 57th position, and Joliana Elias (Jamestown, NC 2015) in 95th position.
The Futures Division field features 14 golfers, highlighted by four of the top-70 players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Ellis Hunter (Greensboro, NC 2016) in 8th position, Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) in 15th position, Jaime Cassell (Charlotte, NC 2016) in 35th position, and Darby Bagshaw (Wilmington, NC 2016) in 63rd position.
The Seahawk Classic brings together players from event brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
