Preview: One-Day Open at Bermuda Run

On Friday, July 18, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Bermuda Run Country Club (West Course). One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 42 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

The Bell Division-Prep Series field features 14 golfers, highlighted some standout players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Joliana Elias (Jamestown, NC 2015), Meghan Holbrooks (Winston-Salem, NC 2014), Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016), and Annika Winebarger (State Road, NC 2014).

The Futures Division field features 28 golfers, highlighted some standout players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Mogie Adamchik (Raleigh, NC 2017), Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020), Ellis Hunter (Greensboro, NC 2016), Alexis Jarrell (Davidson, NC 2018), Emily McFarland (McLeansville, NC 2015), and Emma Reid (Fletcher, NC 2018).

The One-Day Open Series at Bermuda Run CC (West Course) brings together players from event brings together players from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
