Preview: One-Day Open at Green Valley

On Monday, June 23, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Green Valley Country Club. The course is a classic course located in the heart of Greenville and a great venue for this one-day tournament. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 18 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

The Bell Division-Prep Series field features 8 golfers, highlighted some standout players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Payton Culler (Hendersonville, NC 2014), Kate Hill (Clemson, SC 2016), and Taylor Lance (Travelers Rest, SC 2015).

The Futures Division field features 10 golfers, hhighlighted some standout players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Madison Branum (Lexington, SC 2018), Jaime Cassell (Charlotte, NC 2016), and Peyton Roach (Greenville, SC 2016).

The One-Day Open Series at Green Valley brings together players from event brings together players from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. It should be a great tournament!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
