Preview: Bash at the Bay Classic at Golden Horseshoe

On Saturday-Saturday, June 14-15, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Bash at the Bay Classic at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (Green Course). The course is host to multiple college events and is a great course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 26 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

The Bell Division-Prep Series field features 9 golfers, highlighted some standout players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Lena Capoccia (Bethesda, MD 2018), Emily Salamy (Williamsburg, VA 2015), Kelly Salamy (Williamsburg, VA 2020), and Katie Turk (Blacksburg, VA 2015).

The Futures Division field features 17 golfers, highlighted by five of the top-50 players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Rebecca DiNunzio (Norfolk, VA 2019) in 11th position, Ciaran Carlile (Evans, GA 2015) in 13th position, Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) in 24th position, Jaden Harman (Grottoes, VA 2019) in 38th position, and Cassie Robinson (Emporia, VA 2019) in 43rd position.

The Bash at the Bay Classic brings together players from event brings together players from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
