Update: Harford leads at Paladin Classic

On Saturday, April 26, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the Paladin Classic at Furman University Golf Club. Furman, home of the Furman University Paladin men’s and women’s golf teams, is a classic course with tricky greens for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 62 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

The Bell Division, after round one, Haylee Harford (Leavittsburg, OH 2015) is leading the field by four strokes at three under par with a score of 69. Not far behind Harford is Lauren Lightfritz (Suwanee, GA 2016) at one over par with a score of 73, Allison Cooper (Harrisburg, PA 2015) and Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016) both tied at four over par each with scores of 76.

The Futures Division, after round one, Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) is leading the field by one stroke at three over par with a score of 75. Not far behind Wade is Taylor Lance (Travelers Rest, SC 2015) and Alyssa Montgomery (Knoxville, TN 2019) both tied at four over par each with scores of 76 and Kelly Salamy (Williamsburg, VA 2020) at six over par with a score of 78.

Weather for Sunday’s round looks beautiful with temperatures in the low 70s and high 80s. It should be a great day for lots of birdies and low scores!
