On Sunday, April 13, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the PKBGT MASTERS at Salem Glen Golf and Country Club. The course was in great shape for the second major tournament of the 2014 season. The event featured a field of 86 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
Madison Moosa (Charlotte, NC 2017) is golden!
In the Bell Division, there was a one-hole sudden-death playoff between Moosa and Jordan McKevin (Westminster, MD 2015) who both had two-day totals of 151. Moosa made an up-and-down for par to win the playoff. Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) and Sarah Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) tied for third place, both with two-day totals of 152.
In the Futures Division, Diana Cristina Domenech (Richmond, VA 2018) shot nine over par with a score of 81 to placed first with a two-day total of 156. Katharina Floyd (Chapel Hill, NC 2020) shot 10 over par with a score of 82 to placed second with a two-day total of 159. Alyssa Montgomery (Knoxville, TN 2019) and Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) tied for third place, both with two-day totals of 160.
With their victory’s, Moosa and Domenech both received class A exemptions into the Tournament of Champions this fall. With their runner-up and third place finishes, McKelvin, Rice, Spicer, Floyd, Montgomery, and Wade all received class B exemptions into the Tournament of Champions.
PKBGT returns to action in two weeks on Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27 with the Paladin Classic @ Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, SC. The Paladin Classic brings together players from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and even Ontario, Canada.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
