On Sunday, Februry 17, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP @ Chateau Elan Resort (Chateau Course). Chateau Elan Resort (Chateau Course) is a challenging course for the first major tournament. The event features a field of 36 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members in 2012, 137 alumni in the collegiate ranks and 29 National Letter of Intent signees for fall 2013.
Sloan Shanahan (Suwanee, GA 2013) is golden!
In the Bell Division, Shanahan carded five over par with a score of 76 to place first with 71 + 76 = 147 and is the first player to be named golden in 2013. Janet Mao (Johns Creek, GA 2015) carded one over par with a score of 72 to place second with 80 + 72 = 152. Rinko Mitsunaga (Roswell, GA 2015) carded seven over over par with a score of 78 to place third with 76 + 78 = 154.
In the Futures Division, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) carded seven over par with a score of 78 to place first with 88 + 78 = 166. Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) carded 10 over par with a score of 81 to place second with 90 + 81 = 171. McKenzie Hedrick (Bishop, GA 2015) carded 14 over par with a score of 85 to place third with 86 + 85 = 171.
PKBGT returns to action in two weeks on Saturday-Sunday, March 2-3 with the SC University Classic @ The Walker Course at Clemson University in Clemson, SC. This event brings together players from the Carolinas, Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee, and Virginia.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
