On Saturday, November 2, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club. Beacon Ridge is a tricky course for the final Invitational Qualifier tournament. The event features a field of 32 players. Participants will be vying for five coveted invitations to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course) t.he following weekend
The field features 32 girls from the 2013 PKB Tour and a few fresh faces. There are a few top-performers on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit Lists, including: Rhea Bhatia (Wake Forest, NC 2015), Savanna Mackie (Greensboro, NC 2014), Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016), and Savannah Thompson (West End, NC 2014). Also in the field are a few new players on the PKB Tour, including: Maggie Ashmore (Kingston, GA 2014), Kenedi Byard (Chesterfield, VA 2016), Ciaran Carlile (Evans, GA 2015), Kara Copley (Lexington, NC 2017), Samantha DeBusk (Lexington, NC 2017), Elizabeth Pinyan (Greensboro, NC 2014), Natalie Warren (Raleigh, NC 2017), and Hannah Whitt (Wake Forest, NC 2016).
The Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s are in the forecast for Saturday. It should be a great day for the final Invitational Qualifier of the season. The top-five finishers this weekend will each receive an invitation to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course). The event brings together some of the best golfers on the East coast and in the Midwest. It is a highly ranked event by Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, AJGA Performance Based Entry, and Junior Golf Scoreboard. This event should not be missed!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 330 members in 2012, 137 alumni in the collegiate ranks and 29 National Letter of Intent signees for fall 2013.
