Update: Curtis leads at JMU

On Saturday, October 5, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the Mid-Atlantic Invitational Qualifier at Lakeview Golf Club. Lakeview, home to the James Madison University men’s and women’s golf teams is an beautiful course for this two-day fall qualifier tournament. The event features a field of 12 players. Although the field is small, the participants will be vying for three coveted invitations to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course) in November.

After round one, Caroline Curtis (Glen Allen, VA 2019) is leading the field by two strokes at six over par with a score of 78. Not far behind Curtis is Siena Ferrick (Vienna, VA 2017) is at eight over par with a score of 80 and Johnna Parlett (Owings, MD 2019) is at nine over par with a score of 81.

The weather for Sunday’s round looks beautiful with temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s and sunny skies. It should be a great day to conclude the second Invitational Qualifier of the season. The top-three finishers this weekend will each receive an invitation to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course).
