Update: Collom leads at Radford

On Saturday, September 28, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the Central Invitational Qualifier at Draper Valley Golf Club. Draper Valley, home to the Radford University men’s and women’s golf teams is an beautiful course for this two-day fall qualifier tournament. The event features a field of 18 players. Although the field is small, the participants will be vying for five coveted invitations to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course) in November.

After round one, Kate Collom (Davidson, NC 2014) is leading the field by one stroke at four over par with a score of 76. Not far behind Collom is Khushboo Thiagaraj (Haymarket, VA 2014) at five over par with a score of 77 and Mary Catherine Ligon (Chester, SC 2014) at six over par with a score of 78.

The weather for Sunday’s round looks beautiful with temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s and sunny skies. It should be a great day to conclude the first Invitational Qualifier of the season. The top-five finishers this weekend will each receive an invitation to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course).
