On Monday, August 5, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Chapel Hill Country Club. Chapel Hill is a esteemed course for eight and final one-day tournament of the 2013 season. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 47 players.
In the Bell Division, the field features 15 golfers, highlighted by some of the top players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit list, including: Joliana Elias (Jamestown, NC 2015), Savannah Gowarty (Raleigh, NC 2015), and Brittany Smith (Stanley, NC 2013). Savanna Wood (Boone, NC 2014), the 2012 Bell Division champion at this event, will be returning this year to defend her title.
In the Futures Division, the field features 32 golfers, highlighted by some of the top players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) ranked 1st, Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017) ranked 3rd, Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) ranked 4th, Hailey Freedman (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) ranked 11th, and Nina Kouchi (Matthews, NC 2018) ranked 15th. Cheong, the 2012 Futures Division champion at this event, will be returning this year to defend her title.
The PKBGT would like welcome Alexis Berlin (Cary, NC 2014), Taylor Lyle (Orlando, FL 2013), Kimi Ramos (Winston-Salem, NC 2014), Emma Reid (Fletcher, NC 2018), Sarah Towne (Chapel Hill, NC 2015), and Sydney White (Charlotte, NC 2015) who will be playing their first PKB event this season.
The One-Day Open Series @ Chapel Hill Country Club brings together players from across North Carolina, Virginia, and even Florida. Weather for Monday looks great for playing golf, with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s. It should be a great day for the eight and final One-Day Open Series of the season!
