On Friday, July 26, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Bermuda Run Country Club (West Course). Bermuda Run is a great course for seventh one-day tournament of the 2013 season. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 54 players.
In the Bell Division, the field features 18 golfers, highlighted by some of the top players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit list, including: Abbey Hartsell (Hickory, NC 2015), Alexis Kershaw (Winston-Salem, NC 2014), and Savanna Mackie (Greensboro, NC 2014). Ashlii Thompson (Brown Summit, NC 2013), the 2012 Bell Division champion at this event, will be returning this year to defend her title.
In the Futures Division, the field features 36 golfers, highlighted by some of the top players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) in 1st position, Kathryn Carson (Mooresville, NC 2017) in 2nd position, Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) in 5th position, Alyssa Montgomery (Knoxville, TN 2019) in 19th postion, and Nina Kouchi (Matthews, NC 2018) in 25th position.
The PKBGT would like welcome Meghan Donley (Mocksville, NC 2016), Grace Huffman (Lexington, VA 2018), Lauren Merrill (Pittsboro, NC 2014), Anne Bennett Osteen (Greensboro, NC 2013), and Carmen Tucker (Fayetteville, NC 2019) who will be playing their first PKB event this season.
The One-Day Open Series @ Bermuda Run Country Club (West Course) brings together players from across North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Weather for Friday looks great for playing golf, with sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s. It should be a great day for the seventh One-Day Open Series of the season!
