On Monday, June 24, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the One-Day Open Series at Green Valley Country Club. Green Valley is a timeless course for the third one-day tournament of the 2013 season. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field of 35 players.
In the Bell Division, Chandler Danielson (Etowah, NC 2014) shot five over par with a score of 77 to place first. Ashley Czarnecki (Greenville, SC 2016) shot six over par with a score of 78 to place second. Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016) shot seven over par with a score 79 to place third.
In the Futures Division, Samantha Vodry (Mooresville, NC 2016) shot five over par with a score of 77 to place first. Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) shot nine over par with a score of 81 to place second. Madison Branum (Lexington, SC 2018) shot 12 over par with a score of 84 to place third.
With their victory’s today, Danielson and Vodry both received exemptions into the sixth major tournament of the season, the Tournament of Champions, which is being held at Moss Creek Country Club (North Course) in Hilton Head Island, SC in September.
PKBGT returns to action next week on Tuesday-Wednesday, July 2-3 with the PKBGT PRECISION GOLF SCHOOL JR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIPS at Forest Oaks Country Club. Forest Oaks, former home of the PGA Tour Greater Greensboro Open, is a distinguished course for the fourth major championship of the 2013 season. The tournament brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament.
