On Monday, June 24, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Green Valley Country Club. Green Valley is a timeless course for the third one-day tournament of the 2013 season. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 37 players.
In the Bell Division, the field features 18 golfers, highlighted by some of the top players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit list, including: Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016), Payton Culler (Hendersonville, NC 2014), Savanna Wood (Boone, NC 2014), and Kathleen Sumner (Charleston, SC 2017). Both Massengill and Wood are already event champions in the 2013 season.
In the Futures Division, the field features 19 golfers, highlighted by four of the top 20 players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) in 6th position, Madison Branum (Lexington, SC 2018) in 8th position, Samantha Vodry (Mooresville, NC) in 15th position, and Aubrey Patti (Winston-Salem, NC 2015) in 18th position. Both Branum and Wade are already event champions in the 2013 season.
The PKBGT would like welcome Kate Beeken (Davidson, NC 2016), Taylor Bunten (Concord, NC 2014), Whitney Carter (Rock Hill, SC 2016), Taylor Hinson (Belmont, NC 2017), Peyton Roach (Greenville, SC 2016), Patricia Thompson (Hickory, NC 2015), Kate Toms (Spartanburg, SC 2016) and Beth Ann Townsend (Greenville, SC 2017) who will be playing their first PKB event this season.
The One-Day Open Series @ Green Valley Country Club brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Weather for Monday looks sunny with temperatures in the 80s with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Despite the chance of inclement weather, it should be a great day for the third One-Day Open Series of the season!
